About Us

Plalker Community Action Group, is a Winnipeg based unincorporated not-for-profit association dedicated to the practice of 'plalking'. Plalking is the 'walking' variation of plogging, a fitness trend introduced by Erik Ahlström in 2016. Plogging means picking up litter while jogging and combines the Swedish words 'jogga' (to jog) and 'plocka upp' (to pick up).

Our Mission

To promote a healthier, cleaner, and more connected community in the Winnipeg region through clean up activities.

To raise awareness about the environmental impacts of single-use plastic.

To provide an online clean up event platform for community members to easily organize their own cleanup events, empowering individuals to take an active role in cleaning our communities and preventing plastic waste from entering our waterways.

Our Vision

In a world where people are feeling stuck on how they can contribute to a healthier environment, our vision is to create a ripple effect, where the actions of our community inspire others to take up the mantle of environmental stewardship. We hope to see communities from coast to coast using the Plalker.org platform to organize their own cleanup events, document their experiences, and share their successes.
